large colored paper clips (at least 2" wide), various colors and textures of ribbon

Description

TO MAKE:  Cut strips of various colored and textured ribbon (approximately 5-6” long).  Tie them to the ends of large, colored paper clips.  They are easy, inexpensive and pretty!

IDEAS: 

 - Allow children to choose their own ribbons, older children can tie them on and make themselves.

-  Choose a color combination for each person in your family (each person has their own color of bookmarks).

-  Use certain color bookmarks to designate certain types of books in your classroom.

-  For classroom setting, have each CHILD choose a color for their bookmark (use ribbons to make each one unique).  They can clip these to a book that they want to "reserve" to look at or read during reading time.
