Various tropical fruits (such as watermelons, pineapples, peaches, cantelope, apples, etc), spoons, bowls

Description

Cut open 1 or more large fruits have the children explore what's inside. Allow them to use their sense of touch by feeling the insides. Provide spoons, bowls, and other objects to explore the fruit.

Ask questions like:  "How are these fruits the same?"  "How are they different?"

Keep careful supervision while children are playing with the fruit to avoid a choking hazard. Afterwards, provide fruit slices for children to sample.
