Description

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Scientific exploration and experimentation.  Observe changes to food (apples) when the apple is cut and exposed to the air.

ACTIVITY: Cut two apples in half.  For two of the apples halves, do nothing.  On the other two apple halves, pour lemon juice over them.  Write down children’s predictions of what they think will happen to each set of apples over time.  Put apples in science area.  Later on in the day, observe any differences to the apples.  Ask the children why they think there are differences in the apples?
