READ: "Llama llama misses Mama" ACTIVITY: While reading the book, talk about the different activities that Llama does during his day at school. You will have the children make a visual schedule of llama's day with pictures (tape them on the wall, attach with velcro, etc). Highlight some of the activities that make up his day (ie. Welcome time, Center Time, Story Time, Lunch time, Outside time, etc.). Give each child a picture of that represents an activity in the story. As you continue to read the story, have children to come up and attach their picture on the daily schedule. After reading the book, have the children compare llama's schedule with their OWN classroom schedule. Talk about how it is similar or different from llama’s schedule. Share this idea  |
