Tactile Table - Ping Pong Balls

Print This Idea

Age Group

ping pong balls, tactile table, water, large tongs, small bowls or containers

Toddlers and preschoolers can practice their fine motor and eye-hand coordination skills with this activity in your tactile table.

Put a small amount of water in the tactile table (just enough so the ping pong balls will float).  Put in ping pong balls (or other light weight balls) and 3 bowls or containers.  Have children try to catch the balls with a large pair of tongs and put them into the bowls/containers.

If you have colored ping pong balls - you can extend the activity by having children sort the colored balls into matching colored bowls.
