I "Can" Tell a Story   Age GroupInfant/Toddler Supplies3 or more cans/containers that fit inside each other, photos or pictures from a story or book, contact paper DescriptionIf using tin cans, start by making sure that the edges are sanded/taped and are safe. Next, cover each can/container with colored contact paper. Choose a story or song that progresses (ie. "5 Little Pumpkins", "The Hungry Caterpiller", etc). Find photos or clipart that "retell" important parts of the story and glue to the cans in order of the story beginning to end (biggest can/container to the smallest). As you sing the song or read the story, remove can/container to expose the image that you are talking/singing about. After showing your class, have the chilren try on their own. Easy to store because they nest together! Share this idea |
